Good news: the planning application we submitted this summer on behalf of Caritas Guernsey has been approved!

As it develops long-term solutions to the growing problem of homelessness in Guernsey, this important local charity has proposed an interim solution in the form of compact, solar-powered sleeping pods that offer safety, dignity and shelter in moments of crisis.

Designed to function without mains services, these Emergency Sleeping Pods are self-contained and secure. Their minimal footprint make them ideal for providing immediate relief for those in urgent need.

In a press release announcing the news, Caritas thanked StudiO for “generously supporting us through the planning process. Their expertise and encouragement have been invaluable in helping us achieve this milestone.”

With planning permission for the pods now granted, we look forward to seeing them in place and hope they mark the beginning of broader, long-term solutions to homelessness in Guernsey.
