Tinto

A tiny restaurant developed through an exceptional level of tailoring

Tinto’s design uses refined lighting and contrasting materials to make a strong visual impact on the busy street. The entire interior is exposed to those passing, framed by the traditional glazed facade, creating a sense of continuity between the inside and outside. Internally, the design uses light to enhance the sense of space, which is softened by a palette of natural materials. A marble shelf ‘wraps the room with light’, providing a subtle level of illumination that allows the space to be quite dim while exaggerating the spatial quality of the room through contrasts of light and dark.
