Work in progress: The Agricultural Building
Fantastic to see the steel frame going up for the Agricultural Building at Icart Point.
This building marks the first phase of an exciting, multi-scheme development on this spectacular and expansive south coast site.
We designed this two-storey structure to sit sympathetically in the rural landscape. As you can see, it is built within what was once a quarry, minimising its overall height. Storage space is maximised over the two floors, both of which are accessible by vehicle either from within the quarry or across bridges at field level. The dark, corrugated agricultural cladding helps the building to blend in with the surrounding foliage.
Big thanks to main contractor Rihoy & Son, and to Siteweld, Geomarine, Concrete Solutions, Timber & Damp Proofing Specialists, Phase Mechanical & Electrical, and Bob Froome & Sons for their hard work on site so far!
