StudiO design new offices for HFL

We’re excited to be designing new offices for HFL, a local fund administration and private client company.
HFL is part of the Opera group, a collective of businesses built to challenge traditional financial services and create something more connected, human and forward-thinking.
To accommodate this growing team based at Energy House, the new workspace has been designed to support collaboration, creativity and the next phase of HFL’s journey.
With a brief to create warm, welcoming, contemporary spaces, we’ve been busy finalising concepts and refining finishes, working closely with HFL to make sure we deliver exactly what the company wants and needs.
Inspired by the long drawing tables found in creative studios, the design features rows of desks with individual lamps. Bespoke overhead lightboxes provide soft, ambient light while also softening acoustics.
Large sweeps of colour throughout bring warmth and character to the traditionally bland and soulless office environment. The dividing ‘statement’ wall features personal storage lockers (one per desk) as well as shelf space for the display of plants, books and so on. Painted columns add exciting pops of colour. Earthy ceiling tiles, mirrored in the carpet tiles, add to the cosy, natural tone, and provide a neutral canvas against which the feature colours can sing.
Connected to the main work zone is a more informal space with unallocated hot desks and breakout spots for impromptu catchups and collaborations. A cocooning palette aims to foster tranquility and focus.
An updated kitchen and socialising zone provides comfortable seating for relaxation, while updated bathrooms feature bold colours and upgraded shower facilities. Storage areas provide ample space for coats. Stylish voiles provide the option of privacy in glass-fronted meetings rooms, softening the space while still allowing natural light to come through.
Works are already underway on site. Look out for more updates as progress ramps up.
